About Us

We are Fred, Linda & Briana as the only 2 legged creatures on the ranch we get our say here! The ranch is in Rocky Point, Long Island, New York. We are recent converts to the chinchilla world. It all started with 1 chinchilla. As you may have guessed that was Cinzia. That was News Years Eve of 2003.

Since then our brood has expanded. We added Chauncey that February 2004, he was a rescue, and unfortunately the only survivor of 5 (Dad, Mom & 3 kits). We then rescued 2 more chins Ashley a White Mosaic and her sister a Standard Grey. After finding a home for the Standard Grey we settled in with 3. Turned Chauncey into the "Stud Muffin" of the group and began our research.

On May 27th 2004 Cinzia gave birth to her first set of kits. Triplets!! We were not prepared and we wound up chasing baby chins around the house till 4 AM. We found them all.........finally!! Well at this point we were hooked!!

Since then we have changed all of our cages and added many more chins and been through several births and unfortunately a loss but all in all things turned out great. We are planning further additions and modifications to our ranch........Oh! Pardon me....Cinzia's Ranch!!.....and we are looking forward to helping others find the fun and joy in owning a chinchilla or two or more!!

Cinzia's Chinchilla Ranch
